It's Show Time !

by Barbara Van Horn

What is spring if not an excuse to buy that pretty outfit you've been looking at for two months? (Than again, weren't the Holidays a good excuse too? And what about the summer? Okay. ANYTIME is a good time to get a new outfit.)

The April meeting was the perfect venue to stage the annual CES Spring Fashion Show.

Again this year the Mistress of Ceremonies was the unflappable, always congenial and ever articulate Becky Adams.

Now, Becky didn't actually strut her stuff on the runway but may have had the most interesting outfit of all. (Sorry no pictures of this cutie.) While at first glance one may have thought Becky was, (Dare I say this?) crossdressed as a guy, everything she was sporting actually came from the ladies department. Becky, you are such a tease!

Photographs of Barb, Mary Alice and Rene at the CES Spring Fashion Show Coming down the runway were four of our lovely ladies. (Not at the same time! We took turns. When the spot light is on, who wants to share anyway?) As you can see at the right, the evening outfits dominated the show. Mary Alice's delicate layers are perfect for the special evening. Rene (we should all be this slim and trim!) presented a gorgeous asymmetric outfit with sheer sleeves and shoulders. I (that would be Barbara) went with the turquoise dress with matching jacket. (The pearls were supposed to make me look a lot like Jackie Kennedy. I felt a lot like Jackie Kennedy, but not many picked up on this obvious clue.) Not pictured is Janet's stunning royal blue floor length satin full-skirted dress, with gloves, no less. Between the four of us we had every skirt length covered from above the knee to the floor.

I modeled a second outfit of casual denim. I've noticed the wives wear that stuff a lot. Well, here's proof you can be very sexy and provocative in denim. (Well, you can feel sexy and provocative.)

Looking your best in always in style no matter what you wear. Thanks, ladies!
