Editrix Note: Editrix's Note: We were delighted recently to receive the following note from our national director Jane Ellen Fairfax. You can see that Maryland was one of four states cited for strong membership growth. Clearly we are doing a lot of things right. You go, Girls!

Dear Chapter Leaders,
Today I received the monthly membership report from Donna Martin, and my heart was overjoyed with what I saw. I have seldom seen such a leap in Tri-Ess membership! Apparently it springs from several factors. Led by strong recruitment in Colorado, Arizona, Maryland and New York, there was a huge surge in new members, including more new wives than I have ever seen join in any one month. The dropout rate was one of the smallest ever.
I realize this is only one month. But if this Society would ever look at itself in the mirror and realize what it could accomplish, it would be, "Katie, bar the door!!!" Chapters would spring up everywhere, and many more sisters would have a place where they could meet others like themselves, learn and bond together. We would be a powerful messenger, educating society and bringing it to accept us, even as we empower more and more crossdressers and families to accept themselves.
Is there any reason why September 2003 should be unique? Why don't we take it month by month? Would each of you be willing to inspire your chapters to reach out energetically to new sisters, to build on that strong message that is obviously so appealing to wives, to establish new programs and reach out to the struggling, so that any sister will know that when she comes to Tri-Ess, she is home?
Is your chapter willing to say, "We can!"?
Love,
Jane
