Minutes of the Executive Board

by Linda Sullivan

Ladies,

We had our board meeting today (9/14/03) and I must say it was quite a lively meeting.

First I'll bore you with the details.

In Attendance :

Mary Alice, Sue Avalon, Linda Sullivan, Marsha Edwards, Yvonne Sullivan (non-voting member) & Doneene Edwards (non-voting member)

Mary Alice called the meeting to order at 2:30 PM and Sue seconded the motion.

Old Business:

Not a lot to discuss here. We talked about the issue raised about the by-laws and reinforced the decision that all members of CES must be members of National Tri-Ess. Sue has negotiated a good price for our meeting room and the room next door with the current management at the hotel. We have decided to currently suspend the search for a new meeting place.

New Business:

We discussed the up coming year (2003-2004) meeting dates and programs. I'll give you those after the boring stuff.

We also discussed the screening process now used. It was decided that due to logistics, certain individuals will be designated to hold one on one interviews when it's not possible for 2 members to be present. When a prospective member has a supportive spouse it was decided that it would be ideal to have a member spouse at the interview also.

Sue told us that she has received a list of National Tri-Ess members in MD, VA, PA and will check it against our CES listing to see who is current and up to date.

It was decided that in order to help with security and meeting fee collection, members will need to show their National card and pay their meeting fee at the door. An announcement will be sent to all members about this new change.

It was also decided that due to liability factors, all CES events taking place at the hotel will be alcohol free starting with the Sept meeting. It was also decided that the use of illegal substances by any member during any CES event at the hotel will result in their membership be revoked immediately. All members will be sent notification of these changes as well.

Sue brought to our attention that there are members using the CES PO Box for their femme mail. Effective immediately the CES PO Box will be strictly for chapter use. Mail being sent to the chapter PO Box will be marked return to sender.

That ended New Business.
