Unfortunately, August was a bad month for transgender women in the Washington DC area. Two murders in one week focused attention on the transgender community. I'm afraid most of the news coverage reinforced the popular stereotype that all transgender women are engaged in the sex trade. While you and I know differently, the stereotype is a reality that affects us as we express our transgender nature.
